School funding

Oh dear my cynical mind in the present school funding debacle.

*It’s surprising that these cuts are announced so soon after the Federal Govt announced school funding increases.  Does the State Govt intend to play one against the other and use the Feds money for State expenses?

*And another cynical thought from a friend.  Is the Premier getting these announcements over this early in the parliamentary term and then when the next election is on the horizon he will start the generous handouts in the hope that the cuts will have receded into the background.

Horrible isn’t it to have such a cynical mind about governments but hardly surprising?

Tit for Tat

Much talk – no, a great deal of talk about cutting the bureaucrats in State Government but nary a word about cutting the the salaries of the multitude sitting in the Houses of the State Government.

I would suggest that the work done by the bureaucrats facing redundancies is more necessary and effectual than the work ( ?) done by the many seat-warmers sitting in the State Parliament.
