Could this disaster in the USA be the start of an Insurance Company-led recovery. By this I mean that if damages run into the billions to be claimed from insurance companies, surely this will mean that these billions will (upon payment from Insurance companies) be put into the economy. Any person receiving an insurance payment will not simply pocket the money, they will intend to rebuild homes and businesses and this will mean the hiring of labour, the purchase of materials. In other words the payments from Insurance companies will start a circular movement of money from the insurance industry, poured into the housing and building and trades industries, through the labour hired , through payment of taxes. Round and round.
