Corruption and the role of the media

Listening to, reading about investigations at ICAC over the past few weeks I believe that I can tell you what is the future of the media, particularly the press media (Fairfax) and the broadcast media (particularly the ABC).   It is as investigative units searching out information for ICAC and causing these scandals to see the light of day.
Maybe classified advertising is dying – or in the ABC case it never was – but we badly need investigative people who can ferret out the malefactors in our society and suggest that we have these two well known groups to bring things to public notice and then to ICAC notice.
The past few weeks of disclosures in Court, with attendant publicity, strengthens my opinion.
