Once, not so long ago, it was said that cars were kings of the road with an exorbitant amount of money spent on providing roads. Now I can confidently suggest that bicycles have taken over with the two wheeled silent assassins taking over, not only the roads but footpaths. What happened to the regulations that require them to have bells and lights on each bike? What happened to the regulation that said the bells should be used when riding on footpaths? Or even what happened to it being illegal to use footpaths as roads? And we have or will spend large sums of money to provide paths for these pests. The more things change, the more they stay the same…. perhaps until an elderly pedestrian , is injured by these “silent assassins”.
