Honour? It’s questionable.

Isn’t it time we dropped that obviously ridiculous honorific “the Honourable so-and-so” when referring to members of Parliament especially in light of the news coming daily to voters via the media about the less than honourable behaviour of Parliamentarians..
I have long disagreed with this title – bearers so often claim that “they are servants of the people”. So I ask – if you are “servants of the people” why do you elevate yourself above the people by allowing the continuation of “The Honourable” – a title you and I are not given.
