Figures…and more figures…and more figures

Those who know tell us ( ?) that not too far into the future the percentage of seniors (pension age) will peak. After this peak please tell me when does the percentage (of elderly) begin to fall and when will it fall below (in percentage terms) the population able to support these elderly, pension-age people?

“People who know” can surely calculate this and reassure us that when this happens the sky will not fall in, the world as we know it will not disappear and there may be some normalcy in the world. After all, they have had plenty of figures to throw around to scare the living daylights out of us with a future of too few earning people to support too many non-earning elderly Australians.

So when does this peak arrive and how long for this peak to pass.
