Words, wonderful words. And now I have found a great addition to my vocabulary – German words.
The Germans seem to have a way of using one word only to cover a sentence or near-sentence such as:
Schadenfreude – enjoyment over someone’s misfortune. How complete
Realpolitik – realistic politics-historical term for power politics and foreign policy based on expediency rather than ethics or public opinion
Zeitgeist – the spirit of the time
Verboten – forbidden but very strongly
uber – prefix used to indicate “super something” or “mother of all”
How many others are there?
